AYURVEDA & YOGA SPRING CLEANSE

Join us for a transformative journey!
April 19th – 21st, 2024

Merge the wisdom of Ayurveda with the practice of yoga to revitalize your mind, body and spirit in alignment with the natural rhythms of spring.

In Ayurveda, spring is regarded as a time of renewal, where the energies of Kapha, associated with earth and water elements, are prevalent. It’s a time you can shed the heaviness of winter and awaken to the vitality and potential of the new season. Through mindful practices of Ayurveda and yoga, you will cleanse and rejuvenate your mind and body, aligning yourself with the natural cycles of nature.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

You will begin by taking an online Dosha Quiz to understanding your unique constitution (dosha) and any imbalances present in your body and mind. Through self-assessment and conversation with Maribeth MacKenzie, a certified Chopra Center Ayurvedic practitioner and Joyful Belly Ayurvedic Nutrition and Digestion Coach, you will have the opportunity to identify dietary and lifestyle practices that support your individual needs during the spring season.

You will explore Ayurvedic dietary principles tailored to spring, emphasizing warming, and detoxifying foods to pacify Kapha dosha. This will include incorporating seasonal juices, soups and Kitchari freshly made from 100% organic ingredients of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and spices known for their cleansing properties.  All juices and foods will be loving prepared and provided for you.

Ayurveda offers a treasure trove of herbs and spices to support detoxification and balance during spring. You will learn about herbs like Triphala, turmeric, ginger, and a host of other spices and how to incorporate them into our meals and daily routine to enhance cleansing and rejuvenation.

Yoga practices will focus on poses and breathwork that stimulate digestion, promote circulation, and invigorate the body-mind connection. You will learn dynamic flows, twists, and inversions to awaken stagnant energy and release toxins stored in the body.  All levels are welcome to explore safely and with curiosity the yoga practices specifically created to help facilitate our time together.

Cultivating mindfulness and meditation practices will help you deepen your awareness of the present moment and connect with your inner wisdom. Through guided meditation, visualization, and reflection, you will tap into the transformative power of the mind-body connection.

You will explore nurturing daily self-care rituals (Dinacharya) rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom, such as self-massage (abhyanga), oil pulling (gandusha), and dry brushing (garshana). These practices not only support physical detoxification but also promote relaxation and emotional well-being.

Throughout your cleanse, you will have opportunities for self-reflection and integration, allowing you to observe shifts in your energy, mood, and overall well-being. You will celebrate your progress and set intentions for continued growth and nourishment beyond the cleanse.

The key to yoga and Ayurveda is discipline.

This discipline is found in creating a lifestyle that best serves you and helps maintain equanimity or balance. Establishing daily routines and seasonal cleanses will help you maintain balance in all areas of your life. Now, this is not to say that you may be thrown an occasional curveball that may create imbalance, but to honor your dosha, to recognize when you are out of balance and to have the tools to get back into and maintain balance is the beautiful gift of Ayurveda and yoga.
